Audco Italiana’s C-BALL valves operate like conventional ball valves but feature a C-shaped half ball that rotates on two planes through an eccentric stem.
This design ensures tight sealing against a fixed seat while eliminating cavities and backpressure.
Technical Description
They excel at isolating, distributing, or redirecting fluid flow in pipelines. A 90 degree rotation enables open/close operations while minimizing friction between the spherical segment and the seat.
Composed of a body, eccentric stem, cover, spherical segment, stem sleeve, and seat, the design incorporates eccentricity between the centerline of the ball segment and the valve flow path. This allows separation in the open position—avoiding contact—and precise engagement only when closing, significantly reducing wear.
The floating seat self-aligns for optimal sealing, and high hardness seat materials withstand high-temperature and high pressure conditions up to 160°C and 16 MPa.
Standards include API 6D for design, ANSI B16.5 flanges, sizes from 1" to 40", and compatibility with liquids, oils, slurries, slag particles, or air. Materials include WCB, LCB, and other alloys based on application requirements.
The construction supports manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuation in compliance with ISO 5211.
Eccentric half-balls ensure reliable sealing, low torque, instant release, and long service life—even with granular fluids under severe conditions. The structure minimizes mechanical abrasion, extends lifespan, and enables bidirectional flow.
Ideal for petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, steel, power, textile, paper, and sewage sectors, especially low-pressure lines handling erosive particles or gases at moderate temperatures.
